About Emma

For as long as I can remember, I have adored travelling. A natural curiosity combined with a fascination for diverse cultures, exceptional wildlife and anything novel and adventurous has always inspired me to travel, and to venture that little bit further off the beaten track. I spent a long period of time living in Sri Lanka and know this incredibly diverse Indian Ocean island inside out. From here I would often travel to neighbouring countries such as India, The Maldives, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia. Circumnavigating Borneo solo was one of my first big adventures (alongside scaling Kilimanjaro and spending time in Tanzania), and I’ve also travelled extensively across Australia and South America.

Travel changes and evolves over time and after starting a family of my own I quickly learnt that adventure is possible at any age if you find the right balance. I love creating unforgettable memories for families and intergenerational groups, and am just as happy designing inspirational journeys for couples and honeymooners too.

My writing work has featured in a range of publications including Conde Nast Traveller, Lonely Planet, Guardian Travel, The Telegraph, The Times, SUITCASE and Wanderlust. I am currently The Telegraph’s Sri Lanka destination expert. For more references, see www.emmamboyle.com

“We had the best holiday ever to celebrate our grandfather’s birthday. We loved going on a touk touk in the tea plantations, seeing elephants and leopards on safari and doing lots and lots of surfing at the beach. They even organised a delicious birthday cake in every place we stayed!”
